Eight Bells Alehouse to Host Artists for Animals Happy Hour on March 1, 2017
The event celebrates the Rescued with Love art exhibit hosted at the bar for two weeks.

Dallas, Texas – February 22, 2017 – Artists for Animals today announces that its traveling art exhibit “Rescued with Love” has been moved from Gaylord Texan to Eight Bells Alehouse (831 Exposition Ave, Dallas, TX 75226). The art exhibit will be on display at Eight Bells Alehouse through March 2, 2017. “We’re delighted to have our artwork seen by the patrons of Eight Bells Alehouse says Artists for Animals co-founder Teresa Berg. “The more people who see our art and our message, the more animals we can help!”

To celebrate the art exhibit, Eight Bells Alehouse will host a happy hour event with Artists for Animals on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm, sponsored by Cinco Vodka. Sixty percent of the proceeds from Cinco Vodka drinks sold during the event will benefit Artists for Animals, which the 501(c)(3) organization will use to help more animals. The happy hour is open to the public. Patrons need only mention Artists for Animals to their server during the event to have a portion of their ticket go to the cause.

The multi-media concert will feature a silent auction with artwork by local artists, a performance by Avant Chamber Ballet, music by musicians of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, wine, dessert, and a heartwarming photography and art presentation. Vintage Tex Now Carrying Retro Revival Shop Home Goods
The collection of vases, artwork, and home décor starts at $16.

Grapevine, Texas – February 15, 2017 – Vintage Tex today announces that the store is now carrying Retro Revival Shop home décor at its shop in historic downtown Grapevine (603 S Main St, Ste 300, Grapevine, TX 76051). “I’ve been a fan of Retro Revival for years,” states Vintage Tex owner Jen Cooper. “We’re excited to expand our offerings to our vintage-loving customers.”

Retro Revival has a large showroom in the Antique Gallery of Lewisville as well as a 2,000 square foot warehouse in north Fort Worth that is by appointment only. The warehouse houses their higher-end, designer merchandise. These items are also featured on the Retro Revival website. The store carries largely mid-century modern furniture and décor. A few of the items now available at Vintage Tex include statement chandeliers, metal wall art, blown glass vases, pottery, and more.

Mid-century modern décor is a personal interest of Cooper’s, who has been collecting since 2005. Cooper is also passionate about shopping local, whether it’s for her vintage store, her mid-century modern house, or one of her many renovation projects. Most all of the clothing and accessories found at Vintage Tex are from somewhere in the state of Texas. In addition to clothing from the 1920s to the 1970s, Vintage Tex offers a variety of accessories including vintage handbags, scarves, aprons, gloves, hats, brooches, jewelry, and more.

The final of three comedic Couple Calendar Fail commercials hits the web today.

Dallas, Texas – February 14, 2017 – Allcal, the original social planning app, today releases its final of three commercials showing hilarious couple calendar fails. In Flash Mob Fiasco, a woman plans on proposing to her girlfriend at a park using a flash mob. Unfortunately, the flash mob ends up at a different park and performs for the wrong couple, accidentally leading a woman to believe her boyfriend is proposing to her. Before he can say a word, the accidental bride-to-be reels off, “I want a June wedding!” “What’s your budget?” [On the phone] “I told you he wasn’t a total loser!” “Your brother is not invited.” “$10,000? $60,000? $100,000?” Meanwhile the original couple doesn’t get a proposal at all. Should’ve used Allcal!

This is the third commercial in the Couple Calendar Fail ad campaign by the startup smartphone app Allcal. In the first sketch titled Party Foul, a man is excited to introduce his husband to his boss at a swanky work cocktail party only to have his husband missed the email update that the “pool party” is in fact cocktail attire, not pool attire. His husband bursts into the party wearing nothing but a speedo, much to the horror of the other attendees. In the second sketch titled Lonely Paddle Boat, a woman misses the email update from her boyfriend about a time change for their date. He’s left to man a two-person paddle boat by himself.

The first sketch, titled Party Foul, was released last week. In its second video, titled Lonely Paddle Boat, a woman has settled in for a lazy Saturday of watching TV, accidentally standing up her boyfriend for a romantic day on the lake. She missed the email from him saying that their paddleboat rental has been pushed up a day. Her boyfriend is forced to attempt using the paddleboat by himself. Should’ve used Allcal!

Actors Sarah Carey and KJ Lee star in Lonely Paddle Boat. “We’ve all been there,” says Carey of the premise. “You make plans, plans change, and then you’re the jerk who ruins everything because you didn’t get the email! This sketch was so fun to shoot and incredibly relatable in the most ridiculous way. I’ve actually been an Allcal user for about six months so I was particularly excited to work on this project.”

Allcal decided on the video series when the team noticed that many of its users were depending on the app to make plans with their significant others. Available for free for iPhone and Android, Allcal keeps couples connected with seamless real-time calendar updating. When someone makes a change to an event on the couple’s calendar, the event is instantly updated on the significant other’s calendar. The three-part video series shows some of the unfortunate things that could happen to those who don’t use the app to stay connected.

Artists for Animals to Install Art Exhibit at Gaylord Texan Tomorrow

Rescued with Love features animals who were saved from homelessness.

Dallas, Texas – January 31, 2017 – Artists for Animals will install its first art exhibit at Gaylord Texan at 1 pm on Wednesday, February 1, 2017. The exhibit will be displayed for two weeks before being moved to Ten Bells Tavern on February 16, 2017. Artists for Animals co-founder Teresa Berg photographed rescue animals for this exhibit, titled Rescued with Love.

The 2017 Concert for Kindness will be held at 6:00 pm on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Dallas City Performance Hall (2520 Flora St, Dallas, TX 75201). The event will feature a silent auction, performance by co-founder Erin Hannigan and musicians from Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Southern Methodist University, and artwork, photography, and videography by Berg and other local artists. Wine, desserts, and coffee will be served during the silent auction. For the first time ever, Avant Chamber Ballet will perform a set during the show.

In the two-hour long production, the classic tale of Hansel and Gretel has been reimagined by director Gabrielle Palmatier. Tatum Wolf and Skylin Helms star as Hansel and Gretel, respectively, in the fairytale classic. This is Wolf’s second leading role with Royalty Dance Academy. The eleven-year-old dancer previously played Michael in the company’s production of Peter Pan last year. “What I love about this show – besides dancing on stage – is the sets,” enthuses Wolf. “All of us in the cast got to help build the sets!” Helms adds, “My favorite part about playing Gretel is getting to be there every Saturday with my friends because the show would not be the same without them!”

Gabrielle Palmatier has been the ballet director at Royalty Dance Academy for over three years. She began her ballet training in upstate New York. She attended summer intensives such as the Houston Ballet and the Chataqua Ballet and eventually trained and performed with the Washington Ballet under the instruction of Mary Day. She later danced professionally in Los Angeles with various regional companies such as Media City Ballet and Blankenship Ballet. Gabrielle has been teaching ballet for fifteen years. She is not only passionate about dance as an art form but also about the story each dance tells.

The popular spring schooling shows allow horse-enthusiasts all over the Metroplex to enjoy the beauty of European warmbloods as they compete in a non-rated show at Black Star’s enormous covered arena, the largest privately owned arena in the state of Texas. What is Dressage?

Dressage is an English style of riding with a rich history of ancient European warhorses. Today, dressage competitions test how well a horse is trained. According to the International Equestrian Federation, dressage is the “highest expression of horse training” and aims to develop a horse’s natural athletic ability. While dressage benefits all breeds of horse, the most popular breeds seen at the Olympics and other high-level competitions are warmblood horses bred specifically for dressage.
