Renowned Dallas Magician Consults on Netflix Show
Season two of Magic for Humans is now streaming.

Dallas, Texas – January 13, 2020 – Renowned Dallas magician Trigg Watson consulted on season two of Justin Willman’s Netflix show Magic for Humans, now streaming on Netflix. The six, twenty-minute episodes aims to entertain with everything simple street tricks, elaborate illusions, and everything in between.

“Just as comedians often have a team of comedy writers to help develop content for their sitcoms/specials, magicians will often work with a team of magic consultants to create material for their own magic TV shows,” explains Watson. “I worked with an amazing team to help design and create the magic effects Justin performed for the on-camera audience members in Season 2 of the show. I’m used to performing everything I create myself and receiving all the attention on stage/on camera. It was a rewarding experience to work purely behind the scenes and design magic effects that suited another magician’s character and style.”

Watson performs a critically-acclaimed monthly illusion show at Checkered Past Winery in Dallas (1409 S. Lamar, Suite 008, Dallas, TX 7521) called Wine and Magic. Single tickets are $20. VIP tickets are $80 for four and come with reserved seating and one complimentary appetizer for the table.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Kuhlman Cellars Unveils Three Thanksgiving Wines
The pairing selections can be purchased as a discounted bundle or a la carte.

Best Wine for Thanksgiving Dinner

Stonewall, Texas – November 6, 2019 – Kuhlman Cellars is offering a special Thanksgiving Bundle with three wines to pair with turkey, pumpkin pie, appetizers, and more. The trio includes a rosé, a white wine, and a red blend and is now available on the Kuhlman Cellars website as a $74 bundle. The wines may also be purchased individually.

“How do you begin to pair wine when you’re offering a broad buffet? You choose versatile palate pleaser wines that pair well with a wide variety of dishes,” says Kuhlman Cellars co-founder Chris Cobb, who chose the Thanksgiving wines based on his own family’s holiday feast.

The Thanksgiving selections are as follows:

    • 2018 Hensell: A beautiful blend of hand harvested fruit, including Grenache and Cinsault from the Texas High Plains, this rosé has a nice light strawberry color. The nose is very nice with red berries such as cassis and sweet violet aromas. In the mouth the wine is soft with great roundness in the mid palate and a medium acidity lingering in the finish. A la carte price: $26.
      • Thanksgiving pairing suggestion: appetizers such as chips and dips, soups, salads
    • 2018 Estate White: This beautiful blend of Marsanne and Roussanne 100% from the Estate Vineyard, harvested at the end of July 2018, offers a crystalline yellow straw color.  Captured in stainless steel tank fermentation, aromas of jasmine flower and fresh white peaches invite the mouthwatering acidity combined with honeysuckle and lemon drop flavors. The Estate White is perfect with salty and spicy dishes. A la carte price: $28.
      • Thanksgiving pairing suggestion: turkey, dressing, and gravy
    • 2016 Alluve: As one of Kuhlman Cellars’ proprietary blends, the Alluvé is crafted to be soft structured and food friendly. Though considered an “Everyday Drinking Wine,” there is a complexity of flavor accenting the soft approachable body. With notes of bright red fruit, bramble, anise, and thyme, this light and elegant wine is reflective of the unique Texas Terroir. Alluvé has become one of Kuhlman Cellars’ most popular red blends. It’s versatility, velvety mouthfeel, and supple tannins make it a wine you will revisit voraciously. A la carte price: $29.
      • Thanksgiving pairing suggestion: ham, mashed potatoes with gravy and cream based casseroles during dinner, pumpkin pie for dessert

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Stonewall Motor Lodge to Open on Hwy 290 Wine Trail This Spring
Demo has begun on the historic motel.

Stonewall Motor Lodge Texas Wine Trail Hwy 290

Stonewall, Texas – February 4, 2019 – Originally built in 1964 to house the US Secret Service and Press Corp when Lyndon B Johnson became President, Stonewall Motor Lodge, formerly Stonewall Motel, is undergoing exciting renovations by 9Locals Investments to become a premiere vacation destination in the heart of the Texas wine country. The retro motel is located in the middle of the Hwy 290 Wine Trail (14818 US Hwy 290 E, Stonewall, TX) and sits less than fifteen minutes away from over fifty wineries, distilleries, and breweries. The historic motel plans to open its newly painted doors late spring 2019.

“I couldn’t get Stonewall Motor Lodge out of my head,” says 9Locals Investments owner Anita Ortiz Lubke, who is renovating the property in partnership with her husband Lance Lubke. “The area had changed so much since my husband and I first saw the property two years ago and we can see it becoming our own little Napa Valley.”

Renovations include new windows, doors, paint, brand new bathrooms, a spacious outdoor deck, and gathering spaces for guests. “Most of the vineyards on the Hwy 290 Wine Trail close around 6 pm,” says Ortiz Lubke. “We plan on creating cozy spaces where guests can enjoy the bottles of wine they picked up on their tastings either in our new lounge, on our deck, or around our fire pits.” The look and feel of the historic motel will be bright and clean with a nod to its history and a touch of midcentury modern décor.

Amenities include a coffee bar, smart TVs with Netflix and Hulu, ADA accessible rooms, smart check in, and close proximity to some of the best vineyards in the state. Ortiz Lubke enthuses, “We could see the potential to do something really special and bring this retro motel back to life, but we also saw this as a fun project to work on. It has good bones, great character and history, and a super location. Take a road trip to the Hill Country, tour some wineries, enjoy some good food, and come back to a relaxing night where we can sit out and enjoy a glass of wine. We can’t wait to host our guests this spring!”
