FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Last Call for Kuhlman Cellars 2019 Viognier
This is the last chance to enjoy the Viognier until 2022.

Kuhlman Cellars 2019 Viognier

Stonewall, Texas – February 23, 2021 – It’s the last call for Kuhlman Cellars’ 2019 Texas High Plains Viognier ($29). Only thirty-one cases remain of this delicate white wine. This will be the last Kuhlman Cellars Viognier for at least a year; a fall freeze caused significant damage to many Texas High Plains vineyards in 2020, including Kuhlman’s Viognier vineyard. Therefore, there will be no Kuhlman Cellars 2020 Viognier produced.

This aromatic white wine has a beautiful golden dark yellow “robe”. The strong apricot and quince aromatics jump out of the glass upon opening and continue to dazzle the palate as this wine is enjoyed. The delicacy is accompanied by a fat and soft coating sensation in the mouth that lingers, making this a perfect wine to complement sushi, oysters, or Asian-style dishes.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Kuhlman Cellars Releases Thanksgiving Wine Bundle
Two library wines not available a la carte are included in the bundle – that’s something to be thankful for!

Stonewall, Texas – November 11, 2020 – Kuhlman Cellars has released a three-bottle Thanksgiving wine bundle for $109.00 (shipping included), which includes a 7 oz-bag of Kuhlman’s famed herbed almonds and two library wines that aren’t available a la carte. Each wine was carefully selected by Kuhlman’s sommeliers to perfectly pair with traditional Thanksgiving dishes. Orders placed before November 17, 2020 will arrive in time for turkey.

The Thanksgiving bundle ($109) includes:

  • 2017 Sangiovese Newsom Vineyards – (not available a la carte) This show-stopping Texas High Plains wine received a silver medal at the renowned wine competition Concours de Lyon earlier this year. This herbal, lavender-like wine was made from the Brunello clone of Sangiovese. Packed with tannins and a sharp acidity, this is the perfect wine to enjoy with Kuhlman’s herbed almonds and rich cheeses while cooking Thanksgiving dinner.
  • 2019 Hensell ($26 a la carte) – A beautiful light strawberry color, this wine has a nice nose of red berries. With bright acidity and a soft body, this wine is perfect for turkey, stuffing, salads, and more, easily pairing with Thanksgiving dinner. The firm acid will cut through the fattiness of gravy, leaving the palate refreshed and awaiting more.
  • 2018 Estate Roussanne (not available a la carte) – With an award-winning legacy of Roussanne wines, Kuhlman is delighted to offer this enchanting wine made from grapes 100% grown at the Stonewall, TX estate. With a pale straw color, bright acids, and a complex body, this wine is creamy, lingering, and layered. Perfumed notes of eucalyptus, honeysuckle, and pear compliment the orange blossom and lemon zest taste. This wine pairs well with mashed potatoes and turkey with gravy.
  • 7-oz Jar Herbed Almonds ($17 a la carte) – Kuhlman Cellars’ famous herbed almonds are made using Herbs de’Provence from a spice merchant in Aix en Provence, France. The nuts are so popular that Kuhlman recently launched an Almond Club for discounts on regular shipments of the fan favorite. Read more information about the Almond Club here.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Kuhlman Cellars Releases Rare Wine: 2017 Ignis
The exceptional vintage celebrates Kuhlman Cellars’ sixth birthday.

Stonewall, Texas – October 5, 2020 – Kuhlman Cellars is proud to release an exceptional bottle of wine: 2017 Ignis ($62). This is the first time this wine has been produced. “Ignis is only made in exceptional vintages,” explains Kuhlman Cellars co-founder Chris Cobb. “In 2017 the stars aligned. There will be no 2018, 2019, or 2020 Ignis, so this will be the only Ignis release for several years.”

Ignis, which means fire, has notes of dates, almond, and allspice. The grapes hail from Newsom Vineyards. Ignis is named after the caliche “fire rocks” brought to Neal Newsom’s vineyard site by Native Americans. Over time, with many fires, these caliche rocks took on a distinct look and feel. These unique rocks communicate the importance of this vineyard – not only in history but in the specific location.  Neal’s terroir allows for very low yield fruit translating intensely in the glass.

The blend is 47% Newsom Vineyards Tempranillo, 43% Newsom Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Newsom Vineyards Malbec. The wine spent 21 months in French Oak before being bottled in November 2019. The result is an exceptional, big, robust, old world red wine. The 2017 Ignis pairs well with grilled steak, tenderloin, scalloped potatoes, and roasted vegetables. The Kuhlman Cellars Vina Vita Wine Club had early access to Ignis. Ignis is available to the public starting today. Shipping is included with online purchases over $89. For more information, visit kuhlmancellars.com.
