Kuhlman Cellars Celebrates Spring with Bluebonnets & Butterflies
Picnicking is encouraged at the picturesque hill country estate.
Stonewall, Texas – March 15, 2021 – Kuhlman Cellars invites Texas to enjoy the vineyard’s wildflowers and butterflies this spring. The Kuhlman horticulture team propagates bluebonnets, poppies, Indian paintbrushes, Black-eyed Susans, and more beloved Texas wildflowers on their fifteen-acre estate on Fredericksburg’s Hwy 290 Wine Trail. Kuhlman Cellars also has a butterfly garden with both host and feeder plants to assist the monarch butterfly migration. Butterfly enthusiasts can expect monarchs on the property and wildflowers in just a few weeks.
Kuhlman Cellars is proud to be part of the Wine & Wildflower Journey this spring. The passport includes tastings at forty-three hill country wineries between March 22nd and April 16th. Tickets start at $65 and can be purchased here. Picnicking is encouraged at Kuhlman Cellars on the patios, great lawn, or roof-top terrace above the Wine Garten. “It’s easy to social distance at a vineyard!” says Kuhlman Cellars co-founder Chris Cobb. “We love seeing our guests enjoying nature and our beautiful vineyard.”
Those wanting to enjoy the spring weather can purchase bottles of wine or wines by the glass along with other non-alcoholic beverages as well as Kuhlman’s newly added bistro menu food items. For the full vineyard tour this spring, guests may book the Estate Experience, during which guests learn Kuhlman’s grape growing philosophy. Est
ate Experience guests get a behind-the-scenes look at Kuhlman’s wine making facilities to explore the art and science of winemaking, as well as a vineyard tour, and a tasting in the Barrel Room where you enjoy a tank or barrel sample and experience how wine ages. The Estate Experience is $20 per person, complimentary for Vina Vita Wine Club Members, and can be booked here.
About Kuhlman Cellars
Kuhlman Cellars believes wine promotes an appreciation of life’s journey. Lifelong wine lovers Chris and Jennifer Cobb founded an estate vineyard to produce terroir-driven wines of the highest quality. French winemaker and Texas wine pioneer Bénédicte Rhyne soon joined the team and they co-founded the winery to craft wine representative of Old World winemaking principles. Kuhlman Cellars opened to the public in 2014. Located in the heart of the Texas wine country, Kuhlman Cellars welcomes visitors at its tasting room on the famed Hwy 290 Wine Trail between Fredericksburg and Johnson City for signature food and wine pairings.
