Stonewall, Texas – August 20, 2020 – Kuhlman Cellars is ecstatic to announce, “We’re back!” The Fredericksburg-area vineyard, which made national headlines this spring for virtual wine tastings, has been closed for months due to the state’s COVID-19 closures and is thrilled to reopen its doors today with expanded food offerings.

Starting the weekend of August 27, 2020, guests will now have five entrees to choose from, each expertly paired with Kuhlman Cellars wines. Kuhlman Cellars has been known for its signature food and wine tastings and intimate seasonal wine dinners for years, so the team is excited to offer an even more robust food selection.

While the new menu will be forthcoming, Kuhlman Cellars is now open with normal hours. Reservations can be made at kuhlmancellars.com.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Kuhlman Cellars to Host Virtual Sense of Taste Wine Tasting Event
The four-bottle Sense of Taste bundle includes a complimentary invitation to the interactive webinar.

Virtual Wine Tasting

Stonewall, Texas – May 4, 2020 – Kuhlman Cellars is offering a new Sense of Taste four-bottle wine bundle for $122.00 (shipping included), which includes a complimentary hour-long virtual wine tasting event. The tasting webinar explores guests’ individual sense of taste, showcasing how common household foods (available even during quarantine) affect the taste of wines. During the webinar, participants will map their favorite food and wine pairings so  they  are empowered to go out and try new combinations with confidence.

The Sense of Taste bundle includes:

·   2018 Calcaria – Kuhlman Cellars’ signature white blend is defined by its crispy, bright acidity. A blend of Trebbiano, Roussanne, and Viognier, this wine is fantastic on its own or with salty snacks. Aromas of wet stone and sand awaken the senses and set the stage for this wine’s silky mouthfeel. The beautiful, long finish is characterized by notes of Meyer lemon, jasmine, and stone fruit.

·   2018 Viognier – Perfumed notes of honeysuckle and orange blossom grace the bouquet while nectarine, apricot, and guava balance the palate. With a rich and velvety mouthfeel, only 180 cases were produced of this limited release wine. With bright acidity and a full body, this is a white that will hold up to heavier fare such as pork, poultry, and even lean steaks.

·   2017 Marl – The clay terroir gives this wine energetic plum and cassis aromas. Graphite and lingering tannins promise a potential for aging but can be enjoyed now with tenderloin meats.

·   2016 KanKar – This Dry Creek Valley blend is 54% Malbec and 46% Petite Sirah. This beautiful wine has violet, cacao, mint, and vanilla aromas. The chalky tannins will make fatty dishes melt.

Those who purchase this bundle will receive a complimentary invitation to one of Kuhlman Cellars’ live, interactive tasting webinar during which the Kuhlman Cellars team will lead the Sense of Taste “class.” Each class lasts about an hour and includes ideas for more ways to sharpen your wine senses at home. To purchase the bundle, click here. Watch Kuhlman Cellars Sommelier Brandi Pratt  introduce the class here.

Kuhlman Cellars Unveils Three Thanksgiving Wines
The pairing selections can be purchased as a discounted bundle or a la carte.

Best Wine for Thanksgiving Dinner

Stonewall, Texas – November 6, 2019 – Kuhlman Cellars is offering a special Thanksgiving Bundle with three wines to pair with turkey, pumpkin pie, appetizers, and more. The trio includes a rosé, a white wine, and a red blend and is now available on the Kuhlman Cellars website as a $74 bundle. The wines may also be purchased individually.

“How do you begin to pair wine when you’re offering a broad buffet? You choose versatile palate pleaser wines that pair well with a wide variety of dishes,” says Kuhlman Cellars co-founder Chris Cobb, who chose the Thanksgiving wines based on his own family’s holiday feast.

The Thanksgiving selections are as follows:

    • 2018 Hensell: A beautiful blend of hand harvested fruit, including Grenache and Cinsault from the Texas High Plains, this rosé has a nice light strawberry color. The nose is very nice with red berries such as cassis and sweet violet aromas. In the mouth the wine is soft with great roundness in the mid palate and a medium acidity lingering in the finish. A la carte price: $26.
      • Thanksgiving pairing suggestion: appetizers such as chips and dips, soups, salads
    • 2018 Estate White: This beautiful blend of Marsanne and Roussanne 100% from the Estate Vineyard, harvested at the end of July 2018, offers a crystalline yellow straw color.  Captured in stainless steel tank fermentation, aromas of jasmine flower and fresh white peaches invite the mouthwatering acidity combined with honeysuckle and lemon drop flavors. The Estate White is perfect with salty and spicy dishes. A la carte price: $28.
      • Thanksgiving pairing suggestion: turkey, dressing, and gravy
    • 2016 Alluve: As one of Kuhlman Cellars’ proprietary blends, the Alluvé is crafted to be soft structured and food friendly. Though considered an “Everyday Drinking Wine,” there is a complexity of flavor accenting the soft approachable body. With notes of bright red fruit, bramble, anise, and thyme, this light and elegant wine is reflective of the unique Texas Terroir. Alluvé has become one of Kuhlman Cellars’ most popular red blends. It’s versatility, velvety mouthfeel, and supple tannins make it a wine you will revisit voraciously. A la carte price: $29.
      • Thanksgiving pairing suggestion: ham, mashed potatoes with gravy and cream based casseroles during dinner, pumpkin pie for dessert
